Activate Your Theqa Digital Identity

Start activating your digital identity through the Theqa app by following these steps:     

Download the Theqa app from:

  1. Open the app and tap “Get Started”. Three screens introducing the app's features will appear. Tap “Next”.
  2. The registration screen will appear. Select “Registration Through your Mobile Phone”, then tap “Get Started”.
  3. Tap “Scan the Card”, then place your ID card on the back of your phone to read your card details.
  4. Place your ID card on the back of your phone to read the card through NFC.
  5. Enter your email address and mobile number.
    Read and accept the Terms and Conditions, then tap “Continue”.
  6. The app will verify your identity by matching your face with the photo stored in the Civil Status system.
    If the verification is successful, you will receive a One-Time Password (OTP) on your mobile phone.
  7. Enter the OTP, then create your PIN. You can also enable sign-in using your fingerprint or Face ID.

After activating your digital identity, you can now sign in and apply for government services.

Note: After registration, your verification level will appear as “Medium” in the side menu at the top right of the screen.

 

Upgrade to high level verification

To use your digital identity for e-signature, you need to upgrade your verification level through the Self-Service Portal.

  1. Open the Theqa app and sign in using your PIN, fingerprint, or Face ID. From the side menu, select “Upgrade Identity”.
  2. Open the Self-Service Portal. Select (I am a Resident / Citizen), sign in using your preferred method, then select “Manage Mobile ID”.
  3. Select “Upgrade Mobile ID”. Choose your device using its serial number, then tap “Continue” and “Confirm”.
  4. Scan the QR code using the Theqa app, then follow the instructions and tap “Continue”.
  5. Take a photo of your face for verification (If the verification fails, try again).
  6. Enter the OTP sent to your mobile phone. Read and accept the Terms and Conditions, then tap “Continue”.
  7. Open the side menu and make sure your verification level is now "High". You can now use e-signature.

How can you change the digital identity PIN if you forget it?

  • Open the Theqa app
  • From the side menu, select “Settings & Security”
  • Tap “Change PIN”
  • Select “Reset PIN” and follow the instructions
